According to the data from professional venture capital research institution EZCapital, there are 9 investment cases in education industry in 2009, involving a total of 688 million Yuan. It’s the first time that the growth rate of the investment in education industry turns from positive to negative since 2006, creating a record low in four years. In 2008, 21 investment cases have arisen in education sector, and 20 of them disclosed the amount, totaling 1.86 billion Yuan.

Although the global economy was being attacked by the financial crisis, the investment in education sector has been largely increased in 2008 from the previous year. However, the influence finally occurred in 2009 by showing a decrease of more than 50% in investment amount in the industry. Meanwhile, resulting from the investment in the last few years, the number of educational institutions has increased significantly. The quality of these companies and the standardization, professionalization as well as diversification of the industry has drew a lot of attention. Especially, the appeal of industry standardization has never been stronger. Moreover, with the development of the education industry, the diversification has been improved. The segment market such as PBCE, language training, career training, on-line training will also be fully developed. Hence, we consider the year of 2010 as the first year of standardization of education investment industry, as well as the whole education industry in China.
